It is with great sadness we must announce the passing of a legend. Allan Holdsworth is widely regarded as one of the most talented and influential guitarists of all-time. This past Sunday, he passed away in his north San Diego County home. He was 70 years old.
Appropriately, tributes having been pouring out from musical talents all this week. Everyone from Joe Satriani to Mike Portnoy and far, far beyond have nothing but great things to say of this man’s beautiful influence across the spectrum of music.
A memorial fund has also been put into place to help Allan Holdsworth’s family in the wake of these events. It started with a $20k goal and has since reached $111,378! (You can donate by CLICKING HERE).
All of this and more merely give a glimpse at the impact this legend had. He will be sorely missed but his music with live on in the hearts and minds of listeners worldwide.
