1/16/17 UPDATE – It would appear that this coming to fruition. The following video surfaced online over the weekend and CJ had the following to say, “I was a drug addict, I was a broke musician, and I had some fucking issues… I got married, I did some fucking soul searching, and now I’m back to take over the world with my fine brothers.”
Original Story – There’s evidence suggesting that vocalist CJ McMahon may be returning to the Thy Art Is Murder lineup. The band played the UNIFY festival down in Australia are were led by CJ McMahon instead of Nick Arthur who’s been covering vocal duties since CJ’s departure last year. This unannounced return led to absolute mayhem and what sounded to be a great show.
Now, this begs the question… Is CJ returning to the Thy Art Is Murder lineup on a full-time basis or was this a one off occurrence? Only time will tell. Across the band’s networks, the “vocalist” position is still unfilled so anything could happen.
As great a vocalist as Nick Arthur is, it would obviously be amazing to see CJ McMahon reclaim his position in the band. Not only is he a great vocalist and frontman, he’s a great person all around.
