It’s safe to count this as a win for the metal community. Mick Gordon took the prize for Best Music & Sound Design following his work on the wildly popular reboot of DOOM at The Game Awards 2016. For those who don’t know, the soundtrack was frankly metal as fuck. You can learn much more about that and look behind the scenes of it’s brilliant creation by CLICKING HERE.
In accordance with this win, there was a live performance of the DOOM soundtrack at the award show last night. What’s more – Mick Gordon brought out Periphery’s Matt Halpern to handle the drums for the performance. When you add up all the factors, it was beyond awesome.
