It comes with a heavy heart that I must say Sir Christopher Lee has passed away. This occurred on Sunday and has, today, been made public. His passing was in relation to respiratory issues. The man was 93.
He was, first and foremost, a legendary British actor. You’ve seen him as Saruman in Lord of the Rings, Francisco Scaramanga in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, Count Dooku in Star Wars, and Dracula among many, many other notable roles running back through the 1940’s.
But he also walked among our own. He was a heavy / symphonic metal musician as well as an operatic singer. He was renowned for releasing metal records above the age of 90 – a rare feat indeed. This includes the album “Charlemagne: The Omens of Death” and the most recent metallic Christmas carols among other releases. I encourage you to listen if you have not already.
Another piece of magic has left this world as another legend lives on.
Sir Christopher Lee, thank you for everything.
Rest In Peace
