For those who haven't heard, the insane musical genius Devin Townsend has an autobiography on the way! Easily one of the most prolific musicians out there, Devin never seems to stop churning out high quality material in all forms (he came out with THREE albums last year alone!). Even mere glimpses at this man's life have proven to be interesting, so a full on story about it should prove to be quite the experience… right?
Editing an autobiography is a hell of a thing… Zzzzzzzz
Ugh…gawd…typing makes me dizzy. Same with thinking about the past. Luckily this book isn't some Mötley Crüe dirt type thing.
That's what he had to say via Twitter. Anyone familiar with Mr. Townsend's broad sense of humor should be able to find the comedy in this.
The original focus of the autobiography is fully detailed HERE.
"With this book I really want to discuss music, my creative process, the connection between my personal development and how my career and music has been lived, and I want to do it frankly and in detail. I want to offer up my experiences – positive and negative – so that it might help other people to follow their muse and get to do what they dream about. I want to contrast what people assume this life and work is based on, with the reality. It’s so easy to get lost in addiction, accolades and criticisms instead of creating music, but essentially that is the healthiest thing in the world: going where the music takes you is so important. This book is part manual and part diary. It’s a travelogue, a songbook, a celebration, elucidation and condemnation; it’s my story, told by me, for you."
This is most definitely something to look forward to! In the mean time, here's some music.
