Their arrival signified by the black moon in the sky, California based deathcore quintet Eye of Ascendancy comes out swinging with their 2018 EP release, “Dread Sacrament”. A thoroughly soul crushing, otherworldly instrumental experience from beginning to end. A masterful, poetic performance fueled by hatred and existential dread, frontman and lyricist Kyle Takai brings us face to face with our deepest fears. “Dread Sacrament” is the perfect blend of chaos and order, finally coming to rest in a dominion all its own.
This EP completely obliterates and overshadows their full length release from earlier this year with the influence of mixing/mastering engineer Buster Odeholm (Humanity’s Last Breath / Vildhjarta) shining through.
At a total play time of only 10 minutes and 44 seconds, my only complaint and criticism is that I want more.
“Dread Sacrament” is available on all major online music platforms, you really need to sit down and experience this one for yourself. In other news, EOA has mentioned on Instagram that they have already recorded and will be releasing a new single early 2019.
