There’s been a storm of speculation and rumors surrounding the new Tool album in recent history. Comments from drummer Danny Carey and guitarist Adam Jones make it feel like the arrival may be close at hand. However, vocalist Maynard James Keenan consistently seems to say otherwise… until now!
MJK has finally confirmed that he’s been working on new Tool tracks through the following tweets.

…but way ahead. Words & Melodies 100% DONE on all but 1. Someday we’ll track them. Long way from the finish line, but at least we’re closer. Meanwhile new @aperfectcircle release on 4/20. #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking #theresyourupdate #eattheelephant #aperfectcircle2018

Furthermore, guitarist Adam Jones stated that the band will officially start recording the new album in March! Apparently, the instrumental corps of the band performed a private showing of all the new material for no less than Sebastian Bach from Skid Row and Buzz from The Melvins who appear to have enjoyed it greatly.
