Game of Thrones and our music scene seem to share a good bit in common. Over time, names such as Anthrax and Mastodon have participated with the show. There was even a Game of Thrones mixtape featuring the aforementioned bands along with the likes of Killswitch and Mushroomhead. On top of this, it is known that a number of people involved with the show, from the producers to the actors, enjoy some heavier music in their life.
Recently, a 2013 interview with Playboy has been making the rounds with an interesting bit of information. A bit of information from no less than Peter Dinklage who plays the fan favorite Tyrion Lanister. Apparently he was in a self-described “punk-funk-rap band” called Whizzy awhile back. Here’s what he had to say of this:
“I have a pretty big scar that runs from my neck to my eyebrow. I was in a band called Whizzy for many years in New York. We were this punk-funk-rap band. We played a show at CBGB, and I was jumping around onstage and got accidentally kneed in the temple. I was like Sid Vicious, just bleeding all over the stage. Blood was going everywhere. I just grabbed a dirty bar napkin and dabbed my head and went on with the show. We didn’t care much at the time about personal safety. We were smoking and drinking during our shows, and one time my bass player fell off the back of his amp because he passed out. It was one of those bands.”
Furthermore, here’s some photographic evidence that has been shared around:

Peter Dinklage used to be in a punk/rock band in the 90’s called “Whizzy”, there’s no footage of them online and that makes me so sad pic.twitter.com/ToBmgMj8uh
