After some uncertainty in recent years, it appears that Deathcore heavyweights Winds of Plague are returning. In fact, they signed with Good Fight Music/eOne Music and are currently in the final strides of constructing a new album. In regards to this, frontman Johnny Plague just issued the following update:
“I wanted to take a minute from the craziness of life, shoot a quick update on the record status, and thank everyone for their patience.
“We are putting the finishing touches on the record: working in the epic orchestral arrangements. I couldn’t be happier with how it’s coming together. It is proving to be everything I could ever want in a WOP record. What stands out to me so far is how seamlessly we are able to blend many elements that create the signature WOP sound through solid song craftsmanship, fast black metal riffs, crushing breakdowns, and over the top orchestral production.
“Another huge milestone this record is setting in my opinion is my vocal performance. Producers Noah Sebastian and Joakim Karlsson really pushed and helped me to find new vocal tones and ranges I didn’t even know I was capable of.
“After 10 years of making music I finally feel I’m going to get the WOP record I’ve always wanted and I know the fans will feel the wait was worth it.”
