While speaking with NME.com, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno described where Deftones are at in terms of upcoming music. More specifically, he had the following to say:
“When we make records, we don’t really talk about what we’re trying to do or what our ideas are for it, we kind of just go in and make music. That’s what keeps it fresh for us. We don’t try to box ourselves in to these pre-conceived ideas, but we have talked about getting together sooner [rather] than later to start making noise together—just out of pure excitement of creating music.”
Also, two months back, TC Electronic interviewed Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter in regards to what they’re doing. During this process, they unveiled that Deftones are working on some new music. There’s no specific schedule for recording or release as of yet, but the wheels have started turning.
