Storming through the local metal scene with a vengeance, The New Reign has managed to find their place in the scene. They’ve done this by heavily impacting the community and the tri-state region with outstanding drive and intensity. So let me started by simply saying, fuck yeah!
The band started out in 01/01/2014. Current drummer, Jeremiah Roelkey started the band with their previous guitarist. Along the way, he acquired vocalist Andrew Meisenheimer as their frontman. As they began a young career in 2015, a slight lineup change was in order. Adding guitarist Keith Hernandez and bassist Ben Moyer into the mix.
After forming, the band had its first ever practice together. Nobody knew what was lying ahead, writing the first single for their demo they came to a conclusion with “Prevail”. It made for a powerful beginning. Finding their direction with heavy melodic riffs and a punching rhythm. The birth had begun and they haven’t looked back since.
Hitting local bars and traveling through the area with their heavy sound, they started to establish themselves. After writing 2 new songs called “Gravity” and “Unbound”, their demo was complete. Through the process, they stated influences like Whitechapel, Lamb of God, and As I Lay Dying.
With that being said, a new EP is on the way for all you fans! Keep an eye out. In anticipation of this, they’ve been playing a new song live. The people seemed to take to it. And so, the journey continues for the young metalcore group. With smashing riffs, fitting bass lines, and powerful rhythms improving consistently, I suggest you watch out! They are a force to be reckoned with. Stay fucking metal and keep your eye on these dudes!
