Redshift Pilots need to be heard. This is a Californian band that brings a delightful mix of Post-Metal / Rock and Shoegaze to the table. They channel a spectrum of emotion and deliver brilliant melodic passages with a sense of professionalism. They may be lighter than what is usually found here on The Circle Pit but they’re certainly worth the listen – especially if you’re looking for something with a sense of calm that still manages to bring heavy elements into the fold. The music has certainly helped me chill out during the stress of the past few days and may just have a similar effect on you.
Mere days ago, Redshift Pilots released their debut EP going by the title of “Lurker”. This introduction provides 6 tracks that fit the description given above while working together as a consistent, well constructed listening experience. Clocking in at over 25 minutes, there’s plenty of enjoyment replay value to be found on this extended play. Certain tracks may even turn around to haunt your thoughts afterwards (in a good way, of course).
