At the end of this week, Fleshgod Apocalypse will be releasing their new concept album “King”. So far, they’ve released three singles to stave off the growing anticipation. The latest of these, called “Cold As Perfection”, arrived today complete with a NSFW music video. You can give a listen to this along with their prior singles “The Fool” and “Gravity” down below.
The band’s drummer Francesco Paoli had the following to say of the track’s concept and the video which he directed in collaboration with Salvatore Perrone:
“The song is about ageing and the sad consciousness of losing physical and mental integrity with the passing of time. While we waste our life in the continuous research of perfection, which we know will never be reached, we deliberately sacrifice the splendour of our existence that is composed by an infinite number of imperfect details.
We lose ourselves, we lose the time that nature offered us for free and we offend those not lucky enough to have as much as we have. It’s scary because it’s not an invented story, it’s reality and it’s inexorable.”
Fleshgod Apocalypse recorded the LP this Summer at Rome’s Kick Recording and 16th Cellar Studios. They worked with none other than Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, At The Gates, Arch Enemy) in this endeavor. Artist Eliran Kantor (Testament, Iced Earth) handled the artwork for the release. Stay tuned for much more where this came from!
