Devin Townsend has been hard at work as always. In addition to writing a symphony, an autobiography, and a brand new album – he’s preparing a new live DVD! This time around, the performance is primarily centered the alien creature known as Ziltoid aka Devin’s comedic alter ego. In support of making this happen, he’s released an all new live clip of the performance for “March of the Poozers”. It does look entertaining to say the least. You can check it out alongside the official press release just below:
In just a few weeks’ time, Devin Townsend Project release a live concert recording filmed at an incredible sold-out show at London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall venue, bringing the story of Ziltoid to life on stage as well as playing tracks from across his back catalogue. Ziltoid; Live at the Royal Albert Hall captures a larger-than-life evening and is set to be released on the 13th November 2015. You can now film a complete live clip of the track ‘March Of The Poozers’ here.
Shot on 15 high-definition cameras, it was directed by Paul M Green (Devin Townsend, Opeth, BB King, Steve Hackett) and features special guests such as Dominique Lenore Persi (Stolen Babies), Chris Jericho (world-famous wrestler and singer of US band Fozzy) and Jean Savoie, with video narration by Bill Courage, as well as 12 singers & actors as cast and choir. The first half consists of the ‘Dark Matters’ album (from ‘Z²’) played in full, while the second half sees DTP playing tracks from across Devin’s career.
This certainly isn’t Mr. Townsend’s first rodeo in the realm of live DVDs. Not all that long ago, he came out with “The Retinal Cirucs” which you catch can catch a clip from here. The full show is definitely worth watching as it’s good, entertaining fun on a number of levels.
