It was previously rumored that we would get a new Deftones album in September. That clearly didn’t happen. It was rumored, yet again, that we would get a new Deftones album in November. That isn’t going to happen either.
But here we are with the knowledge that the new Deftones album is finished being recorded. And on top of that, here’s a brand new update, as delivered by drummer Abe Cunningham and turntable man Frank Delgado in a Morning Blaze interview at Aftershock Festival (see below). They essentially had the following to say:
“It’s being mixed, it actually started being mixed a couple weeks back. They’re actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things… We’re mixing and we are still in the process of album title, artwork, song titles—we haven’t even got their yet. But the music is done.”
So there’s that. Deftones 2016!
