For those of you looking for trance state music with a few twists and turns, Gate of Horn should do the trick. Their sound simmers down to a synthesis of Sludge Metal and Acid Rock with several other creative elements to boot. It's really the kind of material you can let play with closed eyes, conjuring outlandish imagery in the mind's eye.
