An unexpected event shook the grounds in Australia the other day. The lead guitarist, Troy Brady, from The Amity Affliction has announced that he is no longer a part of the band that he played a big role in creating. This report was even more shocking due to it's inconvenient timing since TAA happens to be one a U.S. Tour through the month of October and then they ship off to Europe shortly after. Check out what was said below>>>
One The Amity Affliction's Facebook, it reads:
"It’s with deep regret I need to let you all know I will no longer be writing music or performing as part of The Amity Affliction. Myself and Ahren started this band 11 years ago, and spent every second of every day thinking about making the next step. I never dreamed I would see the world through music and make the life long friends that i have made.
But it is time for me to step away.
Although I’m not ready to go into any of the personal details behind this, I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my time in the band especially my family and girlfriend. This decision has been the hardest thing I have ever done.
Through music i have become more enlightened and a better person, I have no regrets with my time in amity as it made me who I am today
Most of all thanks to all of the fans who have made it possible for me to do this, I will never forget it.
I wish Ahren, Ryan, Dan and Joel all the best in the future
Troy"
But, the band assures that their future still looks bright even with their recent loss, they report:
"Although Troy was with us since the band began, in no way will his departure slow us down; we are already writing for our next record, and our tour schedule over the next year is looking to be our busiest yet. The boat sails on, see you tonight New York!"
It is evident that although Troy's fans will miss him, TAA will continue to play shows and make awesome music. To get your hands on their 2014 release, "Let The Ocean Take Me" (Roadrunner Records) visit here.
