Chicago’s Veil Of Maya have announced that they have parted ways with frontman Brandon Butler. The band released the following official statement:
"Veil Of Maya has parted ways with vocalist Brandon Butler. Currently we are hard at work on our new studio album and while the music is almost finished, the hunt for a new vocalist is now on. We are very excited with how well this album is turning out and cannot wait to release it soon on Sumerian Records. We know that both our long-time AND new fans will be calling THIS their favorite Veil of Maya album of all time. We want to wish Brandon good luck with anything and everything that he does in the future and thank him for being a part of the band."
Butler had been with the band since their 2008 release “The Common Man’s Collapse”. Now we wait to see how the band continues on from here. Do they have a replacement already in mind? Or maybe they will do submitted vocal auditions via email, like Northlane when Adrian Fitipaldes left the band. The band previously stated in October, 2013 that they had a full EP’s worth of material. You gotta wonder what will happen to the music that was written with Butler. Regardless, the band will be performing at Knotfest this year with somebody, we’ll just have to see who.
