"Like Straining Boughs" is a release that really took my ears by surprise. After just a single listen, I could feel cold chills running up my spine due to the deceptive simplicity and overall brilliance of the music.
Old Graves, the artist, is a one man Canadian band capable of moving you emotionally with his brilliant take on this particular form of extreme metal. His sound is primarily Black Metal influenced but includes tasteful touches of Ambient work, Folk Metal, and even some Doomy bits and pieces.
