Acres is one of those scant, few bands that have been able to give me the strongest emotions recently. Especially last month when I got to set up a show in my town for them. Awesome band. Lovely people.
Acres is an English post-hardcore band, but not one of those generic rise-core or melodic hardcore bands you hear today. They bring big time atmospheres to their music with influence from shoegaze and even post-black metal, defining themselves as “ambient post-hardcore”. We can describe them as a cross between Devil Sold His Soul, Being As An Ocean, and recent Alcest. They're an outstanding act able to evoke big emotions on stage and bringing me one of the most touching live shows I've ever witnessed.
