Cairn Tse-Lalonde is an American 20 year old musician and producer from Boston. He plays guitar and writes music for his progressive deathcore band Truth Behold and currently attends Berklee College of Music in Boston, majoring in Music Production and Engineering. Today, I want to talk to you about his solo project, simply called Cairn, in which he plays and sings some really interesting, catchy and positive progressive metal. This is apparent in the latest single “Time Won’t Wait”.
Of the two songs released so far, you get two completely different approaches. This is true especially when it comes to the singing. The older tune called “Live and Let Live” featured both clean and harsh vocals and a generally more aggressive approach to the music. I personally prefer the new one, both for the singing and general composition. I think it gives to the project more personality, but it’s probably just up to taste.
