I’ve opted to highlight Antropofagus today simply for the fact that they’re awesome \m/ Recommended to us by our friend and extreme metal aficionado Tito Vespasiani, this band is a force to be reckoned with.
Emerging from Genova, Italy, this band delivers Brutal Death Metal with the utmost skill and complexity. Steamrolling since 1998, they’ve managed to blow minds and build a significant underground following spanning the globe. With a sound akin to the musicians in Necrophagist and Beheaded, all with with flourishes of their own, it’s not hard to grasp why.
They’ve released two full-length albums, an EP, and took part in a 5-way split release since their inception. All of the above are worth your time and attention. However, for the sake of this exercise, we’ll focus on their two albums “Architecture of Lust” (2012) and “No Waste of Flesh” (1999). It’s highly recommended you sample selections from both of the above, below.
