The Reflective God is an interesting four-piece from the melting pot that is Los Angeles. They combine a number of sounds and ideas for the sake of smacking your eardrums with the heavy. In particular – they blend together Death Metal, Deathcore, Hardcore, and a tad of everyone’s favorite / least favorite “D” word into a merciless, hard-hitting package.
This is more than evident from their debut EP, “Contempt”. Much like the title, this release brings tenacious scorn to the forefront. If this doesn’t open up a vicious mosh pit, I’m not sure what will. Even better – you get to mosh for FREE! (or for the price of your choosing!) Either way, this band is worth a listen.
