Today, rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer is the only original member still in the band. But Iced Earth is still going strong with his signature gallop rhythm and a completed line-up including Brent Smedley on the drums (second oldest member), Troy Seele handling lead guitar, Stu Block (ex-Into Eternity) covering vocals, and Luke Appleton with the rumble from down under. The band has gone through a total of THIRTY members through the years. This includes some noteworthy names such as Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest) and Matt Barlow.
Since the band’s inception, they’ve released a total of 10 studio albums, and rumor has it number 11 is in the works. This includes headbanging classics such as “Burnt Offerings”, “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, “Night of the Stormrider”, and “The Dark Saga”.
